Some interesting facts about the most grandiloquent game Grand Theft Auto 5

• It took $137 million to develop and $128 million to market, totaling $265 million which is costlier than producing many blockbuster movies

• Within 24 hours of its release it made about $1 billion in sales, It took the movie Avatar 17 days to earn that amount world wide.

• Development of the game began in 2008 and it got finally released after 5 years to consoles. PC gamers were initially disappointed but Rockstar eventually released it for PC after two years. The wait was worth it since the game was wonderfully optimized.

• Lindsey Lohan sued rockstar claiming that the bikini girl used in front covers of the game is apparently her likeness. Later it was found out to be a model named Shelby Welinder.

• The voice actors for Micheal, Franklin and trevor actually look identical to the characters they voiced for.

• Rockstar hired real gangsters to voice the members of gangs in GTA 5 to make the game more authentic.

• The multi-character play in GTA5 was actually planned for GTA San Andreas but due to technical difficulties it was not possible. GTA 5 made it a reality.

• The game is set in Los Santos, an imaginary city which is a replica of Los Angeles, California. The City’s map is twice the size of Manhattan.
